CHRIS JOHNSON

Chris Johnson, drummer, producer, songwriter and author, is one of the world's most recognisable musicians, described by Live Nation Ones to Watch as "Quite possibly one of the greatest and most in-demand international drummers on earth". Hailing originally from the South Central gospel community, and now regularly seen by audiences of millions, he works with icons such as Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Rihanna, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Madonna, Camila Cabello, Seal and J-Lo.

His extraordinary credits include now legendary tours including Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life and Madonna's Rebel Heart, and more recently for the new pantheon of superstars, Lady Gaga's Enigma Las Vegas Residency and Sabrina Carpenter supporting Taylor Swift on her generation-defining Eras tour. Currently performing on Sabrina's extensive Short n' Sweet tour, particular highlights being the 2025 & 2026 GRAMMYs, where she scooped two awards in 2025, and headlining both weekends at Coachella in 2026 where Madonna made a surprise appearance with Sabrina on stage. His work with Lady Gaga included featuring extensively on her GRAMMY and Oscar-winning A Star is Born soundtrack, which went straight to No. 1 in the Billboard 200 and UK Official Charts, and has since passed 6 billion streams on Spotify. In 2022, he featured again on her GRAMMY nominated track, Hold My Hand, for the Top Gun: Maverick film.

Global songwriting and production success has also been a feature of Chris's career with multiple tracks on Snoop Dogg's critically acclaimed gospel album, Bible of Love, which entered at no. 1 on the Billboard Gospel charts. In 2025 he featured on Snoop's compilation album, Altar Call, notably appearing on Grandma's Hands with the superstar Jamie Foxx.

In addition to his phenomenal live and recording credits, Chris has multiple film and TV credits from the critically acclaimed Gaga Chromatica Ball to performances on The Voice, The Four and That's My Jam presented by Jimmy Fallon. Chris also released his debut book in 2021 entitled Pop, R&B, and Gospel Drumming, featuring as a special guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote it.
